The Forum
A panel of experts from policy, practice and research arenas will discuss the Federal Health Care Reform Act and how best to bridge community service agencies and healthcare providers’ assistance to older Michiganians. Specific topics include:

Medicare and Medicaid- what stays the same, what will be different for seniors

Services- impact on service delivery, care transitions, types of services

Community-based systems: how to integrate into the healthcare continuum, and how to make healthcare provides aware of the services available

Administrative Issues- data gathering and data reporting.
The panelists and audience will engage in an interactive dialogue that addresses tough questions and generates new ideas about how to improve the quality of life of older adults in Michigan. Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in breakout sessions addressing topics that pertain to impacts of healthcare law changes, potential ways to gather data to measure the impacts and ways to use evidence-based research findings to improve services.
