Forum:
Last year, the MSG annual forum focused on the implications of health care reform on older Michiganians. The event was well attended and the program received great remarks. Several attendees requested that MSG continue the health care reform conversation. Therefore the focus of this year’s forum is the impact of the health care reform one year later: where things are, what could happen and how we as aging professionals can/should be involved.
Our panel of experts from policy, practice and research will discuss among other issues; statewide quality efforts (such as MI*STAAR), person-centered planning initiatives, and Medicaid programs. Our morning panel includes:
Wendi Middleton,OSA
Jan Getty,Resource Link
Carolyn Stramecki MPRO
Brian Barrie, Long Term Care Policy, MDCH
The panelists and audience will engage in an interactive dialogue that addresses tough questions and generates new ideas about how to improve the quality of life of older adults in Michigan. Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in breakout sessions addressing topics that pertain to the panel presentations; Medicare/Medicaid, Person Centered Planning and Quality Improvement efforts.
